A special visit at JGI Belgium

JGIPHO_6976Jane Goodall’s granddaughter Angel Van Lawick visited the JGI office in Brussels in February. While she was here, she met with some Roots&Shoots groups, including 100 students of Collège du Sacré-Coeur de Ganshoren and 80 students of International School Brussels.

With these groups, she spoke about her own Roots&Shoots project in Tanzania where with the help of a local organization called TAWESO, she started the country’s first ever animal shelter. The kids were inspired by this and presented their own activities, including recycling projects and fund-raising for the under-privileged.

Tanzania20 Angel has recently finished high school and is taking a gap year before starting University to travel around Europe and North America to speak with various Roots&Shoots programs.
