Good news from Tchimpounga!

AP0335-23JGI has vaccinated all village dogs and our staff is also nearly done with the three shots of vaccine injections they need for their protection.

Thank you!

Also, all younger chimpanzees, that were at most risk, have been given medical preventive care. Thanks to our Belgian donors, injection material could be purchased and sent to Tchimpounga along with other medical equipment and supplies.

JGI would like to continue to help protect all the villagers by getting them all vaccinated as well. Thanks to the mobilization of people all around Europe, we are able to fulfill this mission. On the longer term, JGI is going to run an education program addressed to the villagers on improved care methods for their dogs and other animals. Doing this, will prevent a recurrence of an epidemic in the future.

Watch the video about the rabies programme at Tchimpounga. All our dedicated staff has worked a lot to protect all our chimpanzees, people and dogs from this epidemic.

The entire JGI team would like to thank you very much for your precious donations that enabled us to tackle the rabies epidemic quickly and efficiently in Tchimpounga.

Thank you again for your support!
