The Jane Goodall Institute Belgium is a Belgian non-profit organization working on promoting respect for Animals, People and the Environment in Belgium and abroad.
The idea of a holistic mission was founded by Dr. Jane Goodall herself, who early on began to understand that without helping the local communities to achieve economic and social well-being, conservation of the chimpanzees and their habitat would not be possible. Also, she realized that the involvement of every single individual somewhere on our planet can make a difference in making this world a better place.
JGI Belgium, with its Board and general assembly, is constituted of volunteers, seasonal interns and many Roots&Shoots members. The Jane Goodall Institute Belgium is also kindly represented by our 3 ambassadors, Marc de Bel, Louis-Philippe Loncke and Tania Dreelinck.
Our enthusiastic team is eager to bring Dr. Jane Goodall’s message to the world and help raise awareness and fund-raise for JGI activities in Africa. In addition, JGI Belgium is establishing the international Jane Goodall’s Roots&Shoots programme in Belgium bringing hundreds of young people together to help make the world a better place for Animals, People and the Environment.
