An Evening of Hope with Dr Jane Goodall

with

Guest of honour

Dr. Jane Goodall, PHD, DBE, Founder of the Jane Goodall Institute and UN Messenger of Peace

Under the patronage of

HRH Princess Esmeralda of Belgium

Jane Goodall Institute Belgium is delighted to announce an exclusive Gala dinner and charity auction which will take place on 3 December 2022. We are honored to be joined by our founder, the legendary Jane Goodall with whom we will share this Evening of Hope and who will say a few words to us. The profits of this evening will be allocated to our African Chimpanzee Projects, that are in great need of support after the Covid pandemic. Chimp Eden Sanctuary, the only chimpanzee sanctuary in South Africa, provides a home to rescued chimpanzees that have been traded, orphaned and traumatized. The Dindefelo Natural Reserve in Senegal focuses on the research and protection of highly endangered wild chimpanzees. Both projects are also part of our Chimp Guardian Programme, through which you can offer your support to wild chimpanzees in need.

An Evening of Hope with Jane Goodall

Chimpanzee protection is one of the key pillars of The Jane Goodall Institute, with Dr. Goodall’s pioneering research revolutionizing the scientific work and the way we look at chimpanzees and ourselves, as she proved that man was no longer the only toolmaker in the natural world. Her work has shown us the urgent need to protect chimpanzees and their habitats.
Today she travels the world, speaking about the threats facing chimpanzees and environmental crises, urging each of us to take action on behalf of all living things and planet we share. As a conservationist, humanitarian and crusader for the ethical treatment of animals, she is a global force for compassion and a UN Messenger of Peace. Dr. Goodall is also the founder of Roots & Shoots, a global programme that guides young people over 50 countries in becoming conservation activists and leaders in their daily lives.
After cancelling the 2020 Gala due to Covid restrictions, we are pleased and honored to spend an Evening of Hope with Dr. Jane Goodall and our special friends.

Come join us

This exclusive gala dinner and charity auction will take place in the beautiful setting of Martin’s Château du Lac in Genval. There will be a cocktail reception at 18:30 followed by a vegan three-course dinner at 20:00. The dress code is festive.
Individual seats (250€), seats at Jane Goodall’s table (1000€), tables of eight and tables of ten can be purchased here. Tickets are available until the 22th of November 2022. If you wish to stay in the hotel of Martin’s Château du Lac you can do this through this link for a reduced price.

Inspiring Hope Through Action

Later in the evening, you will be able to take part in our charity auction, which will include beautiful works of art as well as exclusive items.
The 2020 Gala was dedicated to the fundraising for the Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania. After the cancellation of the gala and thanks to the generous donations of the tickets bought, we were able to buy boots for our researchers in Gombe, allowing them to continue their hard and important work in research and conservation, at the very place where Jane Goodall’s work began more than 62 years ago.
