From 10 to 14 July, Jane Goodall Institute Belgium will be present in the Botanical Garden in Meise to celebrate World Chimpanzee Day. Funds raised will benefit the Chimp Eden sanctuary in South Africa, where 33 chimpanzees have found a safe home. This centre is largely dependent on eco-tourism, which has been halted for a year due to the pandemic. The financial reserves are drying up, so funds are urgently needed to take care of the chimps!
At the Pachthof there will be an installation on which you can charge the battery of their phone on a bicycle/home trainer. A donation will be asked in return. People can also symbolically adopt chimpanzees and buy some merchandise and books from the Jane Goodall Institute.
The stand will be manned by volunteers from Jane Goodall Institute Belgium. A share of the tickets sold on 14 July will be donated to JGI by the Botanical Garden.
